The Apple iPad can be jailbroken with iOS 3.2.2 (latest at this point) by using either

Greenpois0n. It's a very easy process. Limera1n is probably the easiest of the two methods. But that's a matter of taste.
After the jailbrake process you'll find an app called Cydia on your iPad. Start that up and go to 'Manage --> Sources --> click 'Edit' then 'Add' and add the following URL: cydia.hackulo.us
After you've added that source it will show up in the list of sources. Click the little arrow on the right and install the following apps:
AppSync (choose the version for your iPad (3.2.2)) - this allows you to sync cracked apps with itunes
Installous - This allows you to download cracked apps. Not legal, but nice to check out the full version of an app before you buy it.
And now you're all set. You can download / buy apps from Cydia, or go the illegal route through Installous.
